New mum Katie Piper has posted an emotional tribute to first daughter, Belle
Here at Now, we’re huge fans of Katie Piper, who has overcome trauma and finally found happiness.
After suffering a horrific acid attack by an angry ex-boyfriend in 2008, Katie has since worked on rebuilding her life and helping others in similar situations.
Now, the 31-year-old TV presenter has finally found happiness, having given birth to her first daughter with fiancée Richard James Sutton: Belle Elizabeth Piper, born 14 March 2014.
Katie recently shared an Instagram picture with her followers, describing how much her new family means to her.
Along with a picture of little girl Belle holding Piper‘s engagement-ring-clad hand, she wrote: ‘Never give up. There is no such thing as an ending. Just a new beginning. One of the first things my daughter taught me. #loveuB.’
Awww! Could this BE any cuter?
After the birth of Belle, Katie opened up in Hello! magazine about how it felt to be a mum, following her life struggles: ‘To have had my own life saved in a hospital and then to be there giving life to this precious little person, I thought: “This is why. This is what it’s all about.”‘
Katie even admitted that she was unsure whether she would ever be able to have a baby because of all her medical dramas – meaning that the conception of Belle was that extra special.
‘I already felt grateful that, after that attack, I’d managed to restore a life, have a job, friends, a social life, and I thought, “You can’t expect to have everything, this is enough”.
‘Then to meet and fall in love with James, a man I knew I wanted to have a baby with and who makes me so happy, and now to have Belle – it’s just amazing.’
We think it’s safe to say that Katie has finally found the happy ending she deserves – and we couldn’t be more pleased for her.
‘Most of all, I want Belle to be happy. I thought I knew, after all that happened to me, what happiness meant. But having Belle has shown me what true fulfillment is,’ she added.
