This housewife is NOT shy about speaking her mind!
If you’re not yet familiar with the Real Housewives of Cheshire, there’s one name that, out of them all, you’re likely to have heard of before: Ampika Pickston.
An original cast member since the show’s beginnings in on ITVBe in January 2015, the mother-of-one and beauty entrepreneur is eccentric, confident, and always willing to say what’s on her mind.
For much of this third series, she’s butted heads with fellow newcomer Missé Beqiri, wife of former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard. Similarly forthcoming to speak her mind, Missé wasted no time in telling her fellow Housewives exactly what she thinks of Ampika’s *original* sense of style. (Spoiler alert: she wasn’t impressed.)But when Now asked Ampika about her beef with the new Housewife, she was quick to set the record straight:
‘I’d like to rephrase that: I haven’t had a beef with Missé, she’s had a beef with me,’ she begins.
‘I left school 20-odd years ago, and I left school-ground play tactics, and ganging up on people behind me. I don’t do stuff like that. So if people want to play childish games, I just leave them to it. They’re not worth wasting my energy and my precious time on.’
Admittedly, Ampika had believed she’d get along well with the Swedish WAG, but as the series went even further along, it clearly wasn’t the case – with Missé once accusing the salon owner of flirting with the husband of ‘frenemy’ Dawn Ward!
But Ampika didn’t let the rumour go any further than that, and confronted Missé VERY directly…yet she’s certainly not planning on having a rematch any time soon:
‘I don’t need to have it out with her, I know I’m a lot more intelligent than she’ll ever be, I’m a lot quicker and sharper in terms of humour than she will ever be – so I just leave her to it. Let her get on with it.’
With her upfront attitude, she’s been labelled as a ‘bitch’ by some viewers. But has she let it affect her? Not one bit:
‘Sometimes you’ve gotta grow a thick skin, take everything with a pinch of salt and not take everything to heart. If I listened to every type of criticism that people said about me I’d never get out of bed the next day!
‘This series, I’ve very much come into my own realm and people have really gotten to know me, see all the parts. I don’t really have a title – I’m just Ampika.’
And we can’t say fairer than that. After all these comments, we really can’t wait to see how things play out in the reunion show…
The Real Housewives of Cheshire: The Reunion airs Monday 13th June at 10pm on ITVBe
