From water to bread, here's a list of things big name celebs have put their faces to...

She has a glamorous lifestyle, jet-setting to luxury places such as Bali and Cannes and being on the judging panel of primetime Saturday night telly on The X Factor. But that hasn’t meant Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has forgotten her Northern roots.

The former Girls Aloud star, 32, has teamed up with bakery chain Greggs, which began in the North in the early 1950s, to launch her own chocolate bar.

5p from every sale of the limited edition treat will go to Cheryl’s Trust, the charity set up by the Girls Aloud star to support young people in the North East.

Cheryl said the bakery working with The Trust is a project that is a project close to her heart and added she found it “lots of fun” coming up with the recipe. “It was important for me to have something that I enjoy, and I’m sure everyone else will [too],” she explained.

She also revealed her BFF Kimberley Walsh gave her a helping hand with the final result, which goes on sale nationwide on September 8th for a limited eight-week period. “And @KimberleyJWalsh helped me decide as well,” she said.

Meanwhile, it made us think about other usual celebrity endorsements…

Jessie J and biscuits

The singer teamed up with Tuc original for a commercial set in Paris. Dressed in a bright yellow marching outfit complete with hat, Jessie belts out her hit Bang Bang to a passer by eating Tuc. One word – surreal.

The Saturdays and Tampax

Back in 2009, The Saturdays joined forces with Tampax Pearl My Weekend My Way campaign. They even posed for a ‘pearl’ inspired photo shoot. We have to admit we’ve had our fair share of fashion faux pas in the past but have never been inspired to dress like a tampon for a Saturday night out!

Miranda Kerr and tea

The stunning actress donned a bright yellow frilly minidress and orange bow tie to film a Japanese advert for Lipton’s Limone Ice Tea back in 2012. If that wasn’t entertaining enough, the star had a go at singing… in Japanese. Amazing.

David Beckham and pens

At the same time as modelling for fashion designer Giorgio Armani, the hunk signed a two-year deal to support two of pen company Sharpie’s products. Pens?? Could you get any further away from sexy underpants?!

Louis Smith and fastfood

Months after winning bronze at the London 2012 Olympics in gymnastics, Louis teamed up with Subway’s ‘Where Winners Eat’ campaign. He went head-to-head with boxer Anthony Ogogo in the ad to compete over which of their favourite Low Fat Subs is best. With one a gymnast and the other a boxer, it wasn’t really a fair competition, was it?

JLS and condoms

Shortly after coming runners-up in the 2008 series of The X Factor, the boyband launched a range of condoms with each of their faces on the packets. Sexy. The tagline was Just Love Safe – JLS – get it? Aston came out on top… in terms of sales, that is.

Kerry Katona and a payday loan

She had made no secret of the fact she had been made bankrupt after failing to pay a tax bill, but Kerry Katona was still chosen to be the face of loan firm ad. The advert was subsequently banned after viewers complained. And soon after, Kerry declared herself bankrupt for a second time.

Sylvester Stallone and bread

Yep, we’re thinking exactly what the same as you – why would an award-winning Hollywood actor want to be the face of bread? Either Sly really likes sandwiches or he wanted to visit Bolton where the advert was filmed – we think the former is probably the likeliest.

Jennifer Aniston and water

She looks nowhere near her 46 years of age, and perhaps it’s down to her drinking copious amounts of water! The actress was the face of Glacéau Smartwater back last year.
