It's been eight years since Skins hit our screens... so what are the cast doing now?
From the moment it arrived in 2007, we were glued to our screens watching teen drama Skins.
We tuned into E4 to witness other young peeps deal with sex, drugs, suicide, eating disorders, teen pregnancy and bullying.
Hmm, now we think about it, Skins wasn’t exactly the most upbeat programme going…
From the first series (and FYI there were seven brilliant ones), a host of actors and actresses graced our screens. But where are they now?
Jack was just 18 when he was offered the part of partygoer James Cook in the hit show. Since leaving in 2010, he has starred in various TV dramas along with bagging a role in 2014 blockbuster, 300: Rise Of An Empire. Jack – who once dated X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos – even nabbed himself the EE Rising Star Award at this year’s BAFTAS for his role in last year’s film Unbroken, starring Angelina Jolie.
At just 24 (YES! 24!), Mr O’Connell isn’t doing too badly at all!
Y’know, the adorable awkward kid in the 2002 film, About A Boy!?
Well, since playing Tony Stonem in the first two series of Skins, Nicholas has blagged parts in some seriously successful films. In 2010 Nick appeared in X-Men: First Class and last year, the 25-year-old cutie also starred in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
It was whilst filming X-Men that Nicholas began dating Hollywood star, Jennifer Lawrence, although they called time on their relationship in August 2014. Doh.
So what’s next?
Well, Nick will be starring in a host of films this year including Kill Your Friends, Equals, Underdogs and Autobahn. Nice!
As for awards, Mr Hoult has been nominated for several high-profile gongs and in 2013 he even scooped a Teen Choice Award for his role in 2013 film, Warm Bodies.
After playing British Muslim Anwar Kharral in Skins, Dev literally shot even higher up the fame ladder for his role in Oscar-winning, Slumdog Millionaire. Not only did Dev play lead character, Jamal Malik, but he also went on to win a load of awards AND bagged himself a hot girlfriend, Slumdog co-star Freida Pinto. Unfortunately they broke up in December 2014 after SIX years of dating.
Dev previously revealed: ‘The thing is, I am a loving person. I am super sappy when it comes to romance. But I’m not the Antonio Banderas, swashbuckling, Pierce Brosnan, smooth-talking type.’
Next, Dev starred in 2011’s The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel with iconic names such as Judy Dench, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy. In 2012, Dev also appeared alongside James Franco in About Cherry.
Well, Dev was actually awarded a Razzie award in 2010 for Worst Supporting Actor after he starred in The last Airbender. What’s a Razzie you ask? Basically, if you win a Razzie, you don’t brag about it.
This year sees Dev appear in the Marigold Hotel sequel.
Kaya played Tony Stonem’s sister Effy in series one to four of Skins (and even dated co-star Jack O’Connell for a year) but when she left the E4 drama, Kaya landed herself a host of top roles.
Kaya appeared alongside the one and only Dakota Fanning in Now Is Good in 2012 and also alongside Jessica Biel in Truth About Fishes. Oh and in 2014 she played Teresa in Maze Runner. Phew!
She’s not just an actress though. Brunette beauty Kaya has modeled for the likes of Teen Vogue, Nylon, Instyle UK, Elle UK, Dazed & Confused, Vogue and i-D. She also appeared in Robbie Williams’ 2012 music video for Candy. Who knew!?
Hannah played loveable Cassie in Skins, a character that had to deal with depression as well as an eating disorder.
After leaving the show, 25-year-old Hannah blagged a pretty impressive role in Game Of Thrones. Originally she was only set to play Gilly in series one and two but she was later upgraded to a regular. Nice!
As well as this, Hannah has acted in West End production, That Face, and this year she stars in Lily & Kat, an independent American film.
Swoon!! Although his character was eventually murdered, Luke played Skins’ Freddie in series three and four. Obviously the programme’s major hotty.
Since, Luke has starred in various low-key films and even played Jason in BBC1 show, Miranda. Now, he plays d’Artagnan in BBC’s The Musketeers.
There’s no forgetting Joe – he played drug addict party animal, Chris Miles, in series one and two of Skins.
The 27-year-old then went on to appear in Doctor Who AND landed himself the role of Gendry in Game Of Thrones.
