Anyone for a bird poo facial? Or a therapy involving blood-sucking leeches? No? Really??

In their never-ending quest for eternal beauty, celebs have been know to do some pretty weird stuff.

Take, for example, Salma Hayek, who has just confessed to smothering her hair in GUACAMOLE to keep it looking luscious. Well, kind of.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, the actress revealed: ‘I know a lot of good things for hair that you can do but they’re very stinky. They are SO stinky. You’re better off using my mask! But anything that is greasy is actually really good for your hair.

‘You can put guacamole in your hair. Not with the rest of the stuff, but you can take avocado and put it in your hair.’

And if you think that’s out-there, wait until you hear what other celebs have tried in the name of beauty. These are the weirdest celebrity beauty treatments going…

Kim Kardashian scared Instagram users everywhere when she shared a bloody, post-Vampire facial selfie back in 2013.

‘Just what exactly IS a vampire facial?’ we hear you ask! Well, it’s a procedure that sees blood removed from your arm, spun around in a fancy machine, and then inserted back into your face using lots of tiny needles.

Sounds ouchy.

Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham and husband David are said to be fans of the bird poo facial. Yes, that’s BIRD POO FACIAL.

The £100 Geisha Facial sees a paste made from nightingale droppings applied to the face to give a smoother complexion.

And the Beckhams’ weird beauty practices don’t stop there; Vicky is also said to be a fan of a treatment that involves smearing sheep placenta – which apparently stimulates the skin’s natural collagen production by infusing it with a protein found in placenta – on her face.

Umm, eww.

Jessica Simpson tried many weird and wonderful beauty treatments as part of her series The Price of Beauty – but perhaps the weirdest and not-so-wonderful-est of them all was downing a glass of cow wee.

‘In Mumbai, we drank cow urine because it detoxes you and it’s good for your skin,’ she said. ‘I puked that up like all over the place.’
Well, you would.
Elsewhere, turning detoxing into an extreme sport, Demi Moore once admitted trying leech therapy – essentially allowing blood-sucking critters to attach to your skin.

Speaking on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2008, Demi said: ‘I feel like I’ve always been looking for the cutting edge of things that optimise your health and healing.

‘These aren’t just swamp leeches though – we are talking about highly trained medical leeches.’

Yeah, we still don’t think we’ll be trying them, Dem.

And Gwyneth Paltrow? Well, she gets her vagina steamed, naturally.
