Three members of One Direction are in the top five UK Instagram accounts - but which member doesn't make the list?

It’s hard to believe, but Instagram celebrates its fifth birthday today, and to celebrate the photo-sharing company has released details of the most popular accounts in the UK.

Amazingly, One Direction claim THREE of the top five most-followed-by-UK-users spots – leaving one member sadly lagging behind his fellow bandmates. #AWKWARD.

Taking the number one spot is – yep, you’ve guessed it – Harry Styles. The curly-haired one has 13 million followers, making his the most popular account in the UK. Well, with a face as nice as his, it’s hardly surprising.

Niall Horan is to be found at number three, with the cheeky chappy clocking up 11.7 million followers.

And at the number five spot is Liam Payne, who has a respectable 6.9 million followers.

Which, you’ll no doubt have worked out by a process of elimination, leaves Louis Tomlinson bringing up the rear – and out of the top five.

The fourth member of 1D has 6.1 million followers – loads, granted, but not enough to claim a top five spot.

Instagram newcomer David Beckham takes second place. The all-round man hunk rewrote the Instagram record books when he joined the social network on his 40th birthday by becoming the fastest person to reach 1 million followers – it took less than a day.

Having now clocked up 12.8 million followers, the retired footballer shares throwback snaps from his career, selfies with his famous friends (like Her Majesty The Queen – sure) and adorable, intimate shots of his beautiful family.

Meanwhile, footballer Gareth Bale steals fourth place. The Welsh Real Madrid player has 9.7 million followers, whom he entertains with videos of him training and snaps of his bandaged, injured foot.
