It’s that time of year again – yep, it’s back to school season!

The first week of September heralds the new term as children – and parents – across the country prepare themselves for the academic year ahead.

It’s often an emotional occasion, especially for mums and dads, and this year several celebs have showed this by posting photos of their youngsters getting ready for the big day.

Lots of famous parents have been sending their offspring off in groups and this has resulted in THE cutest pictures.

Elton John shared an adorable photo of his and husband David Furnish’s young sons Zachary and Elijah heading off with the caption: ‘Back to school @davidfurnish #ShareTheLove’

Meanwhile Wayne and Coleen Rooney were bursting with pride at seeing their two eldest boys Kai and Klay go off for their first day.

Danielle Lloyd’s three sons George, Archie and Harry posed for a very sweet snap in their matching red uniforms and their proud mama spotted something quite amusing about the shot.

‘My 3 boys so proud of them trust George to have his tongue out just shows his personality 😂😂😂 #firstday,’ the model joked.

Kerry Katona was also feeling the love when she sent son Max and daughter Heidi back to school. Even her youngest tot Dylan-Jorge wanted in and posed with her siblings too!

It marked a doubly emotional day for Kezza as it also happened to be her birthday.

For some star parents their little ones are only just starting school and it’s a pretty emosh milestone.

Amanda Holden shared a photo of daughter Hollie’s new shoes and wrote: ‘First day of school !! Mama is a mess!’

Awww! Rochelle Humes was also busy getting prepared for Alaia-Mai’s first day and posted a shot of the little girl’s name tags.

‘Getting ready for Alaia’s first day at pre school tomorrow…,’ she told her fans.
