Plunges, patterns and pretty incredible outfits were the theme for this year's ceremony - but some didn't get the memo

The BAFTA TV Awards are always a glamorous occasion as the biggest names of the small screen gather to celebrate our favourite shows from the past year.

There were some big winners at the 2016 ceremony, held at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 8 May 2016, and we’re not just talking about the gongs – there were some fashion champions too!

Sadly not everybody was rocking an award-worthy outfit for the evening’s events though…

Check out our gallery of the best and worst dressed from the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet – which are your favourites and your biggest fashion no-nos?

There were certainly an array of prize-worthy gowns worn by this year’s attendees. Top marks go to Britain’s Got Talent ladies Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden for their dazzling long dresses – we seriously LOVE them.

Other stars in our fashion roll of honour include Lucy Mecklenburgh, Michelle Keegan and Georgia May Foote, who all worked gorgeously elegant looks.

Poldark – which scooped the Radio Times Audience Award – didn’t disappoint in the style stakes either as it leading ladies Eleanor Tomlinson and Heida Reed both rocked stunning ensembles on the red carpet.

Not everybody got it quite so spot on though unfortunately. Whilst Heida pulled off her elegant jumpsuit, Caroline Flack had a bit of a fashion fail with her own all-in-one.

Gaby Roslin opted for a baggy monochrome look which we’re really not feeling whilst others including Katherine Ryan and Rose Leslie were a bit overwhelmed by their busy dresses.

And sadly, as much as we love Ferne McCann, her summery printed frock looked more suitable for a garden party than a snazzy awards do.

Her namesake Fearne Cotton also made a style slip-up with a rather unflattering yellow number – sorry ladies!
