Strictly Come Dancing announces Carol Kirkwood as the sixth member of the 2015 line-up
Carol Kirkwood has been announced as the sixth member of the Strictly Come Dancing 2015 line-up – yay!
The smiley BBC weather girl – who also appears on Radio 2 and The One Show – was revealed to be the latest contestant to join the upcoming series of the show this morning.
Carol’s BBC Breakfast co-hosts Bill Turnbull and Louise Minchin confirmed the news in a suitably sparkly way, with Bill getting decked out in a top hat and tux to unveil the mystery new addition to the line-up at the show’s studios in Salford.
A group of young dancers partied to reveal Carol, 53, looking gorgeous in a pretty maroon dress and a feather boa – she’s already getting into the Strictly spirit!
Carol admitted that she’s not the most experienced dancer but is looking forward to the whole Strictly Come Dancing experience.
‘It feels really exciting, it doesn’t even feel real yet, we haven’t started dancing or training or anything yet,’ she told Bill, who was also a contestant on the show himself back in 2005.
‘I can’t dance, I’ve only done country Scottish dancing so I don’t have a favourite dance, but I like the look of ballroom.
‘I can’t wait to learn to dance and hope my experience on Strictly will be a breeze, whether it will be or not is one forecast I cannot predict.’
Awww, we think you’ll be great, Carol! The news has certainly gone down well with fans who are VERY excited that she’s going to be on the show.
‘I am beyond excited now @carolkirkwood has joined #Strictly 2015. You’ll be amazing Carol,’ one wrote on Twitter.
Another Tweeted: ‘Carol to win Strictly. Genuinely one of the loveliest people I know. Go @carolkirkwood #strictlycomedancing’
In fact there was so much excitement about the news that Carol Kirkwood was trending – we think Cazza could be a viewer favourite already!
She joins Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote and Katie Derham. Who will be next?!
