Looks like Brendan won't rest when it comes to his routine

Brendan Cole might be off sick from Strictly Come Dancing on doctors’ orders but he’s not totally resting up.

The dancer has been replaced by Gorka Marquez in rehearsals with partner Anastacia after getting a nasty chest infection and is hoping to be better in time for Saturday night’s show.

Strictly fans fear for Brendan Cole as he’s REPLACED

In the meantime he’s not taking any chances and is so keen to keep an eye on Anastacia’s development that he’s reportedly asked show bosses to send him VIDEOS of the singer practising with Gorka. That’s some dedication, eh?

Brendan, 40, choreographed the Quickstep routine and wants to make sure it’s going well.

‘He’s keeping an eye on what they’re doing,’ a Strictly source tells The Sun. ‘It’s his thing, his routine.’

There’s been no comment from Brendan on the reports but it’s understandable that he’d want to check on progress after he and Anastacia, 48, twice ended up in the dance-off.

The pair managed to get through when Naga Munchetty was sent home last week and earlier in the series they were unable to perform when they ended up in the bottom two due to Anastacia being injured, meaning Melvin Odoom had to leave the competition based on the public’s votes alone.

Gorka and Anastacia seem to be getting on okay in rehearsals and sent a cute message to Brendan via Twitter on Wednesday.

‘me and @gorkamarquez1 sending u a get well kiss @BrendanCole,,, We are working hard on our quickstep!’ Anastacia posted with a selfie next to Gorka.

Meanwhile Brendan has given an update on his condition with a statement on his website and it sounds hopeful that he might be back in time for Saturday’s performance.

‘All being well I will be back on the dancefloor this weekend with Anastacia and we (with Gorka’s brilliant help) can put in a great performance as if nothing has happened,’ he wrote.

‘Should I not be ready, Gorka and Anastacia will perform their quickstep with me cheering them on from Claudia’s sofa or my own.

‘Fingers crossed all will be ok as I am feeling a little better today (Wednesday) finally!’

Here’s hoping, Brendan!
