Brian Mc Fadden tells Now how he’s been helping ex-wife Kerry Katona get over her marriage split
As Kerry Katona announced that her third marriage is over, following reports her husband of 13 months George Kay assaulted her at their family home, Now can exclusively reveal that ex-husband Brian McFadden has reached out to the heartbroken star. He tells Now: ‘It’s sad for everybody but the most important thing is that Kerry’s OK and the kids are OK and they are – I’ve spoken to them.’
Brian, 35, has two daughters with Kerry – Molly, 14, and Lilly- Sue, 12. He revealed he’s now hoping her toxic marriage is over for good. ‘I spoke to Kerry,’ says Brian. ‘That stuff happens but let’s hope they can both go on and be happy and that’s the end of it now. Kerry’s had a rough run. Let’s hope she can have
a smoother run for the rest of her life.’
Two weeks ago East Sussex police confirmed a 35-year old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault and possessing a Taser. A police spokesman said a 35-year-old woman ‘sustained bruising to her face and arms’. Kerry’s spokesperson released a statement confirming: ‘It is with deep sadness Kerry announces the end of her marriage to George Kay. Her focus now will be on her gorgeous children.’
She and Brian were married for four years before divorcing in 2006, but have remained in contact because of their daughters. As news broke of her marriage split with George, Kerry Tweeted a picture of her five children – Molly and Lilly-Sue, plus Heidi, eight, and Max, seven, from her marriage to Mark Croft and 18-month-old Dylan-Jorge, her daughter with George – captioned ‘My world xxxx’.
It’s a sad turn of events for Kerry, who’s always been determined to find her happy ending. In an interview a few months ago she admitted: ‘I’d be heartbroken if we split up and I’d never date again. I wouldn’t want to put the kids through it.’
