Court tells singer to compensate Jamie Spears for loss of earnings
Jamis Spears has been looking after his daughter Britney Spears since her breakdown earlier this year and now a court has ordered her to give him a salary for his time.
The troubled pop star, 25, will pay Jamie $2,500 a week about £1,7500 to compensate for him quitting his job as a private chef to help care for her.
An LA court has approved his application for compensation for loss of earnings during February leaving Britney to foot the bill.
The court papers reveal: ‘As a result of the responsibilities Mr Spears has assumed as Temporary Conservator of the Person and Temporary Co-Conservator of the Estate, he has been unable to continue his prior employment and thus no longer has the source of income he previously had in order to pay his expenses and bills.’
Jamie has been having a positive influence on Brit, helping to get her personal and professional life back on track.
The singer was recently granted more time with her sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, after a judge had given sole custody rights to ex-husband Kevin Federline, 30, in January.
She has also received positive reviews for her recent guest appearances on US sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
