Bruce Jenner reveals new name 'Caitlyn' to the world
Bruce Jenner has finally introduced the new name she would like to be known as – in her first photoshoot as a woman for Vanity Fair magazine.
Say hello to Caitlyn.
In an exclusive photoshoot, taken at her Malibu home, Caitlyn reveals she felt she had to make the brave decision to come clean about her gender change as it was a ‘secret’ she no longer wanted to keep.
‘If I was lying on my death bed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying “you just blew your entire life”,’ she says.
‘I don’t want to dimish those accomplishments. This is who I am as a person. It’s not about a fanfare, it’s not about people going down the street going ‘Thatta boy Bruce.’
‘This is about your life. Bruce always had to tell a lie and was always living that lie. He always had a secret from morning til night. Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets. As soon as that vanity fair cover comes out I’m free.’
Caitlyn, 65, has even set up her own Twitter page and Tweeted her first message saying: ‘Welcome to the world Caitlyn.’
Caitlyn also happens to be the name of her son Brody Jenner’s girlfriend – although she spells her name differently – Kaitlynn Carter.
The news comes on the same day that step-daughter Kim Kardashian announced she is pregnant with her second child.
Step-daughter Khloe Kardashian was the first to Tweet her support:
Others were quick to point out how similar she looks to Cindy Crawford in the photos, shot by top celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
