The Love Island friendship is still going VERY strong - yay!

Though the 2016 series of Love Island was primarily the birthplace of a number of adorable romances, still going to this day, it also resulted in some of the cast members making lifelong friendships.

Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen are one couple in particular who’ve kept in great touch with some of their fellow Islanders, and it’s expected that we’ll see many of the cast in attendance when they marry later this year.

However, she made it clear that her bond with show winner Cara De La Hoyde is particularly strong – as she asked her to be her bridesmaid in the sweetest way…

Cara has been present for many of Olivia and Alex’s important moments of their relationship – right from their meeting on the show.

Hence, it seems very fitting that she’ll be a part of their big day later this year. However, instead of asking her in a WhatsApp message, or a phone call, Olivia went all out with her bridesmaid request…

So of course I said yes 💗🙌🏽💍 @oliviadbuck 💗 #bridesmaidproposal

With cards reading ‘I can’t say “I do” without you’  and the apt ‘Sh*t just got real’, as well as a bottle of pink Moët champagne, Olivia made sure that Cara knew how much she wants her by her side with a special delivery of goodies.

It’s pretty hard to say no to nice words accompanied by something pink and sparkling – and Cara sure didn’t!

‘So of course I said yes @oliviadbuck #bridesmaidproposal’, Cara, clearly touched, wrote alongside the post, shared to Instagram earlier this week.

And her followers have been nothing but excited to see how much their bond has endured, with one writing:

‘What a beautiful gesture. You must have really touched Liv’s life. You are a beautiful person inside and out.’

Cara split from her Love Island co-champion Nathan Massey earlier this month, and admitted that they haven’t spoken since ending their relationship.

However, Olivia has made it clear that she’ll still continue to be friends with them both, writing on Twitter:

‘Nothing changes my friendship with these two beautiful people @Miss_Delahoyde @NathanMassey_ love you both dearly’.

Here’s hoping there are no awkward moments between them at the wedding…
