PM teams up with Catherine Tate for Comic Relief
Tony Blair will make his comedy debut tonight, as he clashes with Catherine Tate’s Lauren in Downing Street.
The nation’s favourite chavvy schoolgirl will go knocking on the Prime Minister’s door to ask for work experience.
‘Meeting Lauren was an experience in itself, she didn’t seem “bovvered” by anything,’ said The Prime Minister. ‘But I hope she will put her time spent at No 10 to good use.’
Comic Relief: The Big One includes the biggest ever comedy line-up pulled together for a Red Nose Day TV bash and features Russell Brand, Borat, Ricky Gervais and Peter Kay.
The PM’s comic turn is just one of a series of sketches which can be seen tonight, including Comic Relief Does The Apprentice.
As well as a lot of laughs, the Comic Relief fundraiser is hoping to generate heaps of cash. Viewers will be urged to dial and donate via the BT Donation Line on 08457 910 910 (local rate call charges apply).
Every penny will go towards making a big difference to the vulnerable people in the UK and Africa supported by Comic Relief.
Comic Relief – The Big One is on BBC1 tonight from 7pm
