Comedienne signs ad deal to promote supermarket
Victoria Wood has signed a six-figure deal to be the star of an Asda promotional campaign.
The 53-year-old will be the first of several comedy celebs shown working in the store, in a fly-on-the-wall style ad. She replaces Sharon Osbourne who used to front the Asda brand.
‘It’s unscripted so we are sure Victoria will bring humour to the ads,’ a store spokesman tells The Sun.
The first commercial will be a mock documentary based on Victoria’s work in an Asda bakery.
She spent two days working at the retailer, alongside its full time team of bakers, and was filmed using her loaf.
Bet she’ll be as funny as a baker as she was a dinnerlady.
