You might recognise Tom from another TV show...
Celebs Go Dating has provided us with some absolute TV gold this season but it’s not all been down to the famous faces looking for love.
Step forward Tom Read Wilson, the hilarious receptionist at the dating agency who is kind of the star of the show thanks to his eloquent way with words, witty double entendres and all-round charm.
But just who is the lovely Tom? Here’s everything you need to know about our fave CGD star…
He’s a born performer
Tom, 30, hails from Berkshire and has always been set for stardom it seems. Whilst studying at Pangbourne College the youngster started appearing in school plays and went on to take a Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music. This led Tom to perform in theatre productions and pantomimes all over the world – not bad, eh?
He was on The Voice
Did you think you’d seen Tom on another TV show when he first popped up on Celebs Go Dating? You’d be right – in 2016 the confident star auditioned for The Voice with a memorable performance of Accentuate The Positive. Sadly the coaches didn’t turn their chairs for him but he still made quite an impression.
‘I know full well that I’m a bit of an oddity,’ Tom said on the show. ‘But sometimes oddities can be a bit of a nice surprise.’
Awww, we’d definitely have pressed our buzzers for you, Tom!
He LOVES good words
Tom has become famous for his amazing vocabulary in the CGD reception. Some of the top words he’s used include: plethora, perpetually and – our personal favourite – discombobulated.
He’s amazing on Instagram
Speaking of Tom’s lingo, if you love it as much as we do then you NEED to follow him on Instagram. The TV star posts regular videos revealing his words and sentences of the day/week and we’re obsessed. Entertaining AND educational – what more could you ask for?
And he’s definitely a Joey Essex fan
Forget the dates and dramas, Tom’s bromance with Joey has been one of the highlights of this series of Celebs Go Dating. The receptionist has made no secret of his affection for Mr Essex and has done everything from worn his jacket to have one-to-one chats with him. Ahh, a fine Joemance if ever we saw it.
