The singer doesn't understand why she is criticised by strangers

Charlotte Church was horrified by unpleasant remarks made about her after she gave evidence last November to the Leveson Inquiry into the ethics of the British press.

The singer logged on to a newspaper website to see people’s comments

‘They were saying that I was such a bad role model, that I should have my children taken off me,’ says Charlotte, 26, who is mum to Ruby, 5, and Dexter, 3, with ex-fiancé Gavin Henson.

‘At the time it made my blood boil. These people have no idea who I am, where I am coming from, how I raise my children, or how I live my life. So how dare they?’

It was a tough time, but I few months later Charlotte also steeled herself to give evidence about her phone being bugged in a civil case at the High Court and received £600,000 in damages.

‘I wanted justice,’ she tells The Independent On Sunday. ‘This was never about the money.’
