Despite being criticised for miming on The X Factor, Cheryl Cole has received two nominations for next month’s Brit Awards.

The Girls Aloud star, 27, is up for Best British Female Artist – and Best British Single for her third hit Parachute.

Amongst her competition for Best British Female Artist is Ellie Goulding, who is also in the running for Best British Breakthrough.

Cheryl is also battling it out against Olly Murs and Tiny Tempah for Best British Single.

Tiny Tempah dominates the line-up with a staggering four nominations –  Best British Single, Best British Album, Best British Male Artist and Best British Breakthrough.

Plan B, Mumford & Sons and The XX have an impressive three nominations each.

Other nominees include Jessie J, who has already been confirmed as the Critics’ Choice winner, Katy Perry and comeback group Take That

The Brits take place at The O2 in London on 15 February.
