The actress likes tales with morals

Angelina Jolie gets very imaginative with her children’s bedtime stories.

The actress, 38, chooses to create her own tales for Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 7, and five-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne and even tries to get them to act out parts.

‘I usually make up stories for my kids. I like to tell them stories every night and I just make up any kind of crazy thing and like to involve them as characters,’ says Angelina.

‘When there’s a good story for children it has a moral and that’s what I try to teach my kids.’

Angelina – who got engaged to Brad Pitt in 2012 – stars alongside Vivienne in new film Maleficent, which tells the story of Sleeping Beauty through her villain character’s eyes.

Despite choosing to appear in the movie, she wasn’t interested in fairy tales as a child and reckons modern kids’ films portray much stronger women.

‘I wasn’t into fairy tales when I was little. Many of the female characters were not little girls that I admired,’ says Angelina.

‘The princesses were not characters I looked up to or identified with. I think that’s very different now for my girls.’
