Prince William's friend Ben on secret strain for Royal couple as they start a very public life

Beaming as they introduced baby Prince George to the world, new parents Kate Middleton and Prince William looked like naturals.

But despite their unflustered appearance, there are already signs the couple could be feeling the strain.

The Duchess confessed: ‘It’s been very emotional,’ but Wills‘ close pal Ben Fogle says the Duke‘s secretly feeling the pressure of raising Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.

‘This child has been born into an extraordinary world – it’s very different to the one William and Harry were born into,’ says Ben, 39.

‘That brings all sorts of pressures as they try to keep a semblance of privacy from what will be the most famous child in the world.’

After the couple spent the past few years living in relative normality while Wills worked as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot in Anglesey, Ben believes stepping back into the London scene could be a shock.

Wills is expected to leave Wales and head back to the capital in September, where he’ll also take up more royal duties while living full time at Kensington Palace.

‘It’ll be a slightly difficult transition for him because he’s been able to hide away in a true wilderness,’ says Ben.

‘I think suddenly coming back to London to a new very public life on a daily basis is going to be a bit hard.’
