Angelina has written and will direct the movie

It’s been announced that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are to work together for the first time since filming 2005’s Mr & Mrs Smith.

The couple will produce and co-star in By The Sea, which Angelina, 39, has written and will direct.

Brad, 50, and Angelina are thought to be shooting the flick in Gozo and Universal Studios have described it as an ‘intimate character-driven drama’.

The pair – who are parents to six children together – have both admitted in the past that they fell for each other on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith.

In 2008, Angelina told the New York Times: ‘Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love.’

‘We are thrilled to extend our relationship with [Angelina] on By the Sea,’ says Universal Pictures’s co-chairman Donna Langley.

‘Angelina and Brad represent two of Hollywood’s brightest talents and we are excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece.’
