The couple want to make LA their permanent base

David and Victoria Beckham are to sell their £18 million mansion in Hertfordshire after deciding to stay in LA for good.

David, 36, and Victoria, 37, will put the estate – which boasts indoor and outdoor pools, a petting zoo and a tennis court – on the market, as well as their £2.5 million French villa.

David and Victoria have been wanting to sell up for a couple of years now but the timing was never right,’ says a source.

‘They didn’t want to lose money, putting their homes up for sale during a slump in the property market.’

The couple bought 22-acre Beckingham Palace for £2.5 million shortly after their wedding in 1999 and their South of France hideaway in 2003.

But now Victoria is happy to have just a crash pad in London.

‘She has already looked at a couple of apartments and may decide to buy later this year,’ the source tells the Daily Mirror..

‘The Beckhams have made LA their home, and the kids are settled there.’
