Kate will choose winning design

Six university students have designed shoes especially for Kate Middleton.

The De Montfort University footwear design undergraduates, who were picked from more than 100 applicants, have each drawn up a pair for Kate to mark the Queen‘s jubilee year.

Kate is to travel to Leicester with the Queen at the start of her Jubilee Tour and will choose her favourite – and just one pair of those heels will ever be made.

Finalist Summer Spencer, 23, has included tartan in her design as a nod to Scotland, where Kate met her husband Prince William, 29, at university.

It’s sure to be an amazing opportunity for the winner, who will also get to meet fashion lover Kate, 30.

‘When asked who their first commission was at their first job interview,’ Professor Dominic Shellard tells the Daily Mirror, ‘they can reply: “The Duchess of Cambridge, the world’s leading fashion icon.’
