Jacqueline and her character may now have something in common

Last night’s episode of EastEnders was BIG for Jacqueline Jossa‘s character Lauren Branning.

After recovering alcoholic Lauren succumbed to a bottle of booze on Monday, she shocked viewers again by appearing to take a positive pregnancy test yesterday.

Lauren having a baby?! Ooooh.

Jacqueline‘s alter ego was seen emerging from sister-in-law Stacey Slater‘s bathroom with a stick clearly reading ‘pregnant’ in her hand. But was it really hers?

Lauren‘s had a tough few days since stumbling across missing evidence from copper Emma Summerhayes‘ case file about Lucy Beale‘s death last week.

It’s understandable that she’s a bit concerned. Emma – portrayed by Anna Acton – was hit by a car after discovering the identity of Lucy‘s killer.

Cripes.

Did Lauren find the test among Emma‘s evidence? Is it the detective’s? Or Lucy‘s?

We can’t WAIT to learn the truth next week. The tantalising long-running storyline is finally coming to an end on the soap’s 30th anniversary.

If Lauren is pregnant, Jacqueline, 22, will be a natural in the role. She’s due to give birth to her first child with TOWIE hunk Dan Osborne any day now.

The gorgeous brunette went on maternity leave in December and will soon be leaving our screens indefinitely. So we reckon her upcoming exit scenes are going to be pretty explosive.

Jacqueline certainly seemed excited about Tuesday’s twist.

She re-posted two Tweets about it. One read: ‘Lauren’s pregnant, ooh…,’ while a post from BBC One‘s official account simply said: ‘Blimey! 😮.’

Lauren got engaged to her boyfriend Peter Beale last week, who happens to be both Lucy‘s twin brother AND a suspect in her death.

But if Lauren is expecting, there may be a chance that Peter – aka Ben Hardy – isn’t the dad.

She’s been acting rather cagey around Peter in recent days. She’s previously had a relationship with bad boy Dean Wicks, so could it be his?

Hmmm. Why do we have to wait until blimmin’ Thursday for the next episode?!
