The Django Unchained star says he isn't always as smooth as he appears

Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed that he likes to fool around ‘like a complete idiot’ when he’s not busy working.

The actor – who’s just shot three films back to back – feels the need to let loose after working intensely for months on end.

‘I take what I do very seriously and when I’m on set that’s all I focus on,’ says Leonardo, 38.

‘So my vice is to hang out with my friends, talk about absolutely nothing of importance and act like a complete idiot. It’s like therapy to just be a complete idiot.’

Leonardo says he enjoys entertaining people at his house as well as watching basketball and mixed martial arts, although he admits he’s ‘not your typical avid American sports nut’.

Instead, he has a passion for diving.

‘I love diving – it’s one of my favourite things,’ Leonardo tells the Daily Mirror.

‘I’ve been to a lot of different places around the world and sought out coral reefs and different species to see underwater.

‘It’s a whole new experience when you’re down there. You really disconnect from Earth and you’re almost in a dream world.’
