Troy Austin is concerned about his son's alleged antics
Louis Tomlinson‘s father Troy Austin has spoken about his fears for the singer after a video emerged this week appearing to show him smoke a rolled-up joint in Peru.
‘He said he would never get a tattoo because it was a scar and he would never smoke because it would damage his vocal cords,’ Troy, 45, tells the Daily Mirror.
‘He’s gone the opposite way and I hope it doesn’t get worse. I’m worried for him. I do believe that being that famous will be taking its toll on them.’
Aside from smoking, Louis has also been blasted for using the word ‘n**’ in the clip – which some have construed as a racial slur – and for calling 1D‘s latest book ‘gay’ in a derogotary manner.
Some parents and fans are very upset by the pair’s alleged antics, with one Directioner burning her concert ticket in a Twitter photo and others calling themselves ‘angry’ and ‘disappointed’.
However, others aren’t so bothered and managed to get the hashtags: ‘ZouisYouLightUpThatJointLikeNobodyElse’, ‘zouispassmethatblunt’ and ‘replace1dsongswithjoint’ trending yesterday.
Louis and Zayn‘s bandmate Liam Payne sounded a little worried about the risqué Twitter trends when he posted a lengthy plea on his page before their tour date in Sunderland last night.
‘Woah there’s some pretty weird sh*t going on ATM everyone just calm down and don’t do anything stupid cuz u can’t take it back,’ Tweeted Liam, 20.
‘I know some people are having a laugh and that’s all well and good but some people will take this shit serious so I suggest we stop.
‘I’m talking about the trends like we appreciate everything u guys do for us but that’s all a bit far tbh u don’t need to do that.’
He later wrote: ‘Right everybody concert time let’s try and keep the pg rating lol for Christ sake somebody help me restore sanity.’
A spokesman for One Direction tells us: ‘The matter is in the hands of our lawyers’.
