Prince William's wife visited The Treehouse hospice
Kate Middleton made her first ever public address at The Treehouse hospice in Ipswich today.
The 30-year-old is Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, who run the centre.
‘The Duchess of Cambridge is due to arrive any minute! Exciting! #EACHroyalvisit,’ EACH Tweeted this morning.
As well as giving a speech, Kate toured the facilities, met the children who are cared for by the hospice and planted a tree in the grounds of The Treehouse to commemorate her visit.
Kate seemed a little anxious throughout her 3-minute talk to the packed room, in which she spoke of her admiration for the centre’s staff – and her husband Prince William, 29.
‘You have all made me feel so welcome and I feel hugely honoured to be here to see this wonderful centre,’ said Kate.
‘I’m only sorry that William can’t be here today – he would love it here.’
