The church are planning to picked a 1D concert
One Direction have been attacked by an anti-gay American religious group.
The Westboro Baptist Church accuse the group’s jokey on-stage antics of ‘encouraging the youth of this generation to pursue every lust their evil hearts can imagine’.
‘They are a perfect representation of this filthy world and the sin-chasing, f*g-enabling, God-hating, Christ-rejecting UK who has banned WBC from preaching within her borders,’ writes the WBC on its website.
‘These freaks and their fans think it’s funny for these five perverts to grab each other’s asses on stage. They glamorize sin and make a mock of God’s standards.’
The Kansas-based church – which has been the subject of two Louis Theroux documentaries – has around 40 members consisting mainly of leader Fred Phelps‘ large family.
They often picket events with homophobic protests and are now planning to bring their angry demonstrations to 1D‘s Take Me Home tour date in Kansas City on 19 July.
‘We do appreciate them making the trip across the pond and right into our backyard so we can hold the standards of God before their eyes and bind them forever,’ writes the WBC.
‘We recommend that, for once in your miserable lives, you use the platform God gave you to speak to this generation to tell them the truth — God Hates F*gs and F*g Enablers.
‘Say that, or shut up! Nothing else is relevant today in this nation or world. If you five perverts fail to warn your “fans” of this solemn fact, you will answer to God.’
