Directioners were desperate to see the lads

One Direction were forced to change hotels in Peru this week after overexcited fans crowded around the building they were supposed to be staying in.

Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson had been booked into the £350-per-night Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco, Peru.

But while Harry and Liam, both 20, explored nearby Inca landmark Machu Picchu, over 250 screaming girls gathered outside the resort in a bid to catch a glimpse of 1D.

Around 25 police officers struggled to stop the Directioners from spilling onto the street and storming the hotel.

Harry and Liam had been joined by a camera crew on their outing to Machu Picchu and on the group’s return, cops warned them to stay away from Palacio Nazarenas.

1D started their Where We Are world tour in Bogotá, Colombia last Friday and will travel around South America, Europe and North America for the next five months.

After vacating their rooms, the boys and their entourage moved to another top stay in rural Andes town Sacred Valley before flying to Chile on a private jet.

‘There were hundreds of screaming girls outside the hotel,’ an onlooker tells The Sun.

‘Police were struggling to keep them back and keep them off the road. The fans with their posters nearly filled the entire square.’
