William loves catching up with the Crawley family

Downton Abbey has got a new super-fan in the shape of Prince William.

The royal, 31, told Allen Leech – who plays Tom Branson in the period drama – that he’s been tuning in since welcoming son Prince George with Kate Middleton in July.

‘I met him last week… shook his hand. He actually said: “I’m a big fan of the show. Only now that my wife’s had a baby,”‘ Allen, 32, tells US show Watch What Happens Live.

‘Obviously he’s now got a lot of down time so she’s gone: “I’m watching this and you’re watching it with me.”‘

William and Kate have been very busy looking after little George since his birth and the Duchess, 31, has only made a handful of public appearances in the past few months.

It’s likely she’s been spending lots of time in front of her favourite TV shows – one of which is surprisingly rumoured to be Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

‘She thinks the family are hilarious,’ a source told the Daily Star earlier this year.

‘People forget that Kate is just a normal girl, who married into royalty, and enjoys the same trashy TV shows most people do.’
