Take That star Gary Barlow's heading to America to meet P Diddy and Kanye West

Prince William and younger brother Harry want only the top musical talent for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert in June – and Gary Barlow‘s determined to make that happen.

Take That star Gary is flying off to the US in the hope of securing acts such as P Diddy and Kanye West, who are said to be at the top of the Princes‘ wish list.

‘I’ve got to go to America because some of the requests I have are from the Princes,’ says Gary, 41.

‘So they’re all acts I’ve got to follow up on.’

Gary‘s in charge of organising who will perform at the Buckingham Palace gig and has already secured an impressive line-up that includes Paul McCartney, Elton John, Jessie J and Ed Sheeran.

And now he’s heading Stateside because he feels it’s important to meet any potential performers before they agree to appearing at the event.

‘Then they feel more engaged, they’re more in tune with what’s going on,’ Gary tells the Daily Mirror.

‘Often you turn up to these events and you don’t really know what they’re for, or what it’s about.

‘It’s so vital that everybody knows how important this event is for Britain.’
