Singer Whitney's family say final goodbye at burial
Whitney Houston has been laid to rest next to her father Russell at Fairfield Cemetery in New Jersey – the day after her ex-husband Bobby Brown left her funeral service in anger.
The singer, who was found dead aged 48 in her bath at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on 11 February, was driven to her burial spot in a gold hearse yesterday for a private interment.
On Saturday, Whitney‘s ex husband Bobby Brown stormed out of New Hope Baptist Church because of seating arrangements.
‘My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston,’ says Bobby, 43.
‘We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.
‘I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us to move.
‘In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene.’
Bobby – who divorced Whitney in 2007 after 15 years of marriage – claims he wasn’t allowed to see daughter Bobbi Kristina, 18, who was hospitalised twice after her mum’s death.
‘My children are completely distraught over the events,’ Bobby tells People in a statement.
‘This was a day to honour Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur.’
