Eoghan is still in touch with his 1D mate
Now, 20, Eoghan is all man with an impressive six-pack and has just been rehearsing for a Strictly Come Dancing Children In Need special in Northern Ireland.
He has no regrets about being on The X Factor.
‘I had the best time of my life,’ he tells us.
‘The only thing I’d say is, it might have been better if I was the age I am now.
‘I was the youngest ever to get to the final.
‘One Direction came after me.
‘I was so young I didn’t really understand what was going on. I’m from a small town in Northern Ireland and I had to move to London.
‘That’s a big step for a 16-year-old.
‘People say you’re so lucky, but they don’t see that you don’t get much time to yourself.’
Eoghan still speaks to Liam Payne, who auditioned in the same year as him, two years before he came back on the show with 1D.
‘He’s done amazingly well for himself,’ says Eoghan.
‘It’s great to see someone from The X Factor doing that.’
