Directioners are furious with the death hoax

One Direction fans have kicked off after the cruel hashtag #RIPZaynMalik started trending on Twitter yesterday.

It’s believed that someone thought it would be funny to pretend 1D‘s Zayn, 21, had died for an April Fools’ joke – but most Directioners found the hoax very disrespectful.

‘#RIPZaynMalik yes, today is april fools. But this is not a joke at all. This is not funny at all. You crossed the line. Shame on you,’ Tweeted one.

Another wrote: ‘This #RipZaynMalik trend is idiotic. ZAYN IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE, THIS ISN’T EVEN FUNNY AS AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE, HE DOESN’T DESERVE THIS.’

Zayn – who’s engaged to Little Mix‘s Perrie Edwards – hasn’t commented on the prank, instead choosing to promote pals 5 Seconds Of Summer‘s new single last night.

Older sister Doniya also ignored the hashtag and thanked Zayn for buying her tickets to see Justin Timberlake perform in Manchester.

‘Oo look what came 😀 thank you @zaynmalik can’t w8 to go nxt week with @MaryumMalik_ @bridezileh @2fa_Malik + rest x,’ Tweeted Doniya.
