The couple FINALLY date on First Dates!
Hands up who saw First Dates last week? And hands up who’s rooting for Georgia and Alex to get together this week?
If you missed the show, live under a rock or were otherwise engaged, the story is that gorgeous Newcastle model Georgia was stood up by her date. As she got more and more exasperated with waiting, she exclaimed:
‘If I get stood up by my blind date that’ll be it! I’ll quit dating for life… I’ll be getting a bottle of wine and just sitting here on my own.’
After a long wait, maître d’ Fred eventually explained that Georgia HAD been stood up by her date – who had got cold feet. Sad face.
She stayed for a drink to drown her sorrows – and out of nowhere appeared a very cute guy at the bar – mysterious, dark-haired Alex – and the chemistry was immediately obvious.
The pair struck up a conversation, and there were plenty of coy looks exchanged. THERE WAS JUST SO MUCH SEXUAL TENSION GOING ON AND IT WAS ALL SO UNFAIR.
Georgia explained that she’d been stood up – to which a shocked-looking Alex said: ‘You’re joking!’
The pair then chatted about life and love, with Alex explaining that he wants ‘just a nice, genuine girl’, before telling Georgia that her missing date would ‘regret it in the morning’.
Unfortunately, Alex had been assigned to another lady, Heather. Misery faces all round from the viewing public.
Alex went on his date with lovely Heather, and Georgia was left looking crestfallen at the bar – but gamely stayed for a drink or two at the bar – and the camera caught Alex and Georgia glance at each other throughout his date with Heather.
Alex wasn’t being rude, but the chemistry with Heather wasn’t there, which they both noted at the end of their date.
As Georgia left the restaurant alone, Alex was a gent about it and explained to the camera that he didn’t want to be ‘that guy’ and show Heather up on camera by hitting on Georgia in front of her. Which was lovely – but bittersweet.
Luckily this is the land of telly, and producers have set them up on a date – that airs tonight.
Not like us and that guy we eyed up *seriously* hard for, like, three hours last weekend at that bar but will NEVER see again. Why can’t we all have TV producing fairy godmothers to lead us through the land of dating?
WE RECKON THESE TWO ARE SUCH A PERFECT MATCH THAT THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY GET HITCHED AND HAVE BEAUTIFUL BABIES. Place your bets now, kids. And get tuning in tonight.
First Dates is on tonight, Channel 4, 10pm
