Rugby hunk Danny Cipriani has described his relationship - and subsequent fall out - with Katie Price as 'frustrating'

Danny Cipriani has opened up for the first time about his former relationship – and subsequent fall out – with Katie Price, describing it as ‘frustrating’.

Rugby hunk Danny and glamour-model-turned-mogul Katie enjoyed a brief fling back in 2011, but the relationship soured after she discovered Danny in bed with another woman.

Pricey went on to christen him ‘Danny Chipolata’ – an apparent dig at his, ahem, manhood – in a tell-all autobiography.

Now, Danny has broken his silence on the couple’s time together, telling The Sun: ‘She was cool, but it wasn’t anything major and then it was written about in her books later on.’

‘I have no ill feeling towards that and it’s just how it is. At the time, it was frustrating.’

The sports star added: ‘When I was younger she was that pin – the hot girl of the moment. When I met her she seemed really nice and we hung out for a couple of weeks with a group of friends.’

In her 2013 autobiography Love, Lipstick and Lies, Katie described the moment she walked into Danny’s bedroom and caught him having sex with another woman.

The best-selling author wrote: ”Hiya,’ I said — sounding calm even though I felt anything but.

”Danny,’ I said, sounding more together than I was feeling, ‘I want you to know that I forgive you, but I never forget.”

She also gave details of how she came up with his unflattering nickname: ‘In my experience he was a bit – erm – lean in the most obvious departments.

‘That’s why I nicknamed him Danny Chipolata. He can no longer hit the right spots on the rugby field and he certainly can’t find them on a woman.’
