The rapper opens up about why he fell out with his cousin

When Now’s Dan Wootton meets N-Dubz’s Dappy, he’s as streetwise as expected, but also smart and sensitive about the negative perception many people have of him.

Dappy – real name Costadinos Contostavlos, 24 – is determined to be brutally honest about the sad breakdown in his relationship with his famous cousin and bandmate Tulisa

We don’t talk any more.

It’s upsetting. I’d love to be able to hold her, cuddle her and give her a kiss again.

Is it a jealousy thing?

Nah, it wasn’t jealousy. We just had to do our own thing. She’d boss me in her way and I wouldn’t like it. Poor Fazer was stuck in the middle.

We both wanted to be the boss. We’re both very stubborn. We both weren’t having it. We were killing each other every day.

She’s said she was sick of all the drama…

It’s easier for her not to talk to me because I’m a bag of stress. [Getting emotional] But she knows I love her to death. I’d do anything if she ever needs me.

I heard you weren’t comfortable with the relationship between Tulisa and Fazer…

Of course. Listen, with them two being a couple and me finding out about it properly, it didn’t feel like N-Dubz any more. I’ll tell that to the world.

I was glad that my best friend was the one with my cousin. But at the same time it felt like it was Tulisa and Fazer with Dappy. It didn’t feel like N-Dubz.
