The former Page 3 model, Samantha Fox, is left heartbroken as 'wife' Myra Stratton passes away
Samantha Fox has been left heartbroken after her long-term girlfriend Myra Stratton lost her two-year battle with cancer.
A devastated Sam, 49, made the announcement on her Twitter page.
The message said:
Myra worked as Sam’s manager for four years, but in 2003 the pair embarked on a romantic relationship with Sam saying at the time: ‘I have slept with other women but I’ve not been in love before Myra Stratton.
‘People say I’m gay…I don’t know what I am. All I know is I’m in love with Myra. I love her completely and want to spend the rest of my life with her.’
In 2008, Sam and Myra went on ‘Wife Swap’ with Sam hosting comedian Freddie Starr, while his wife Donna lived with Myra.
Sam revealed her feelings for Myra during the show saying: ‘If she wasn’t there my world would fall apart. She’s my soulmate and the person I have been looking for all my life.’
In August 2009, Sam announced the couple were planning to get married in a civil partnership and said she wanted Lenny from Motorhead to give her away and Liz Mitchell from Boney M to do the ceremony.
That year while taking part in ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ she also told fellow camper George Hamilton the depth of her love for Myra.
‘We’re engaged, we got engaged this year in Thailand. The first year we met we both got tattoos on our fingers, we knew, I knew she was going to be my soulmate for the rest of my life.
‘Myra makes me feel safe, she’s motherly which I love.,’ she said in a heartfelt moment.
Our thoughts are with Sam at this hard time and all her and Myra’s family and friends.
