Jamaican beauty queen April Jackson reportedly dated Usain Bolt for four months - and has praised him on Twitter

April Jackson is vying to be crowned The Apprentice and she’s reportedly got experience of being involved with winners…

It’s been revealed that the former Miss Jamaica apparently enjoyed a secret four-month romance with none other than record-breaking sprinter Usain Bolt in 2013 and it sounds like they were very fond of each other.

A friend of 26-year-old April says that she and Usain, 29, had more than just a casual liaison during their time together.

‘They were introduced in 2012 but it wasn’t until the following year they got closer and started to date,’ the pal tells The Sun.

‘It was more than a fling and they developed feelings for each other.’

The couple are thought to have ended their relationship due to Usain’s work commitments.

‘It was tricky because of Usain’s busy schedule,’ the friend explains. ‘Whenever he was in London they enjoyed going to clubs and having fun.’

Reps for April and Usain have been contacted by the Mirror but have yet to comment.

Businesswoman April – who runs a Jamaican boutique in London – has certainly been open about praising Usain in recent months on social media.

In August the TV star Tweeted:

She also posted in July:

April also seems to have a similar philosophy to Usain when it comes to winning, having previously said about being on The Apprentice: ‘When I want something, I want it now.

‘But clearly life, sometimes, things take time – and I’m working on that. But I’m Jamaican. We come first, we win on the track and we will win in the boardroom.’

April was born in London and later moved to Jamaica, where she became Miss Jamaica in 2008.

As well as running a boutique she has founded an events management company and a children’s charity – but could she be Lord Alan Sugar‘s next apprentice?

Some viewers felt she didn’t fare too well during her time as project manager in the first task of the show so we’re sure ambitious April will be keen to prove herself this week.
