He may have lost at the last election, but he may win the biggest competition of his life
The former Shadow Chancellor has been roundly mocked on this series of the dancing competition. And while he hasn’t quite reached Anne Widdecombe-descending-from-the-ceiling levels of bad, he’s been dragged for “mincing” and failing to lift Katya Jones at all last week.
Well, after this weekend’s knockout performance, he’s now got a chance of winning!
The ex-politician dressed up as a mad professor to perform his cha-cha with Katya and everyone loved it. Bruno Tonioli gave a ludicrous EIGHT, whereas Craig Revel Horwood gave him an apt four.
This lead him to gain the highest score yet at 28 out of 40 points! Enough to get him through to next week, leaving singer Anastacia to get eliminated. So now a spokesperson for Ladbrokes has confirmed that they’ve SLASHED the odds on the star winning from 100/1 to 50/1.
The spokesperson said: ‘We’re running scared of Ed thanks to his Halloween dance. Punters can’t stop backing him.
‘His odds are falling as quick as he’s moving on the dance floor and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him waltz into the final.
‘We are going to have to start taking him seriously soon. If he wins we’ll be facing the biggest-ever Strictly payout of $200k in winnings to punters who had the faith at the start.’
