We did not see this coming...

Pop star years are like dog years, for every one that goes by in the real world, it’s actually about 10 in the music industry. Seriously, it’s scientific.

So with this in mind Stacey Solomon has left it SIXTY years to release her debut album, after coming third on The X Factor in 2009.

Not that she’s just been sitting at home in Dagenham and twiddling her thumbs mind, in the past few years the loveable 25-year-old, has turned her hand at presenting, braved I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here and The Jump, become a mum for the second time, and written a book.

And now, after promising it in 2012, Stacey is finally releasing her first album, Shy, on 2 March, and from the sounds of it, her new work has the potential to be pretty damn good.

The singer has managed to bag not one, but TWO massive pop stars to contribute to her album, in the form of Rita Ora and Lily Allen.

Uh-oh! Does this mean she’ll be going around with the ‘C’ word on her T-shirt a la Rita, and getting a bee in her bonnet and mouth off about stuff on Twitter like Lily enjoys doing?

Probs not. Well, we hope not anyway.

Stacey is dead excited about her album dropping (we could’ve said ‘released’ but ‘dropping’ makes us feel like cool music industry types) saying: ‘This album may have been a long time coming but I love it!

‘Making this album the best it can be has been hard work but so rewarding. I can’t wait for people to hear it. I’m so proud of it.’

Are you excited about the Stacey Solomon album? What do you reckon it’ll sound like?

The Jump’s Stacey Solomon is dating HIM?!
