Eva Mendes is wary about Rachel McAdams' relationship with boyfriend Ryan
Eva, 39 – who has been dating Hollywood hunk Ryan for 18 months – isn’t comfortable about the pair being so close.
Ryan, 32, and Rachel, 34, were one of Hollywood‘s cutest couples after they became secretly engaged in 2005.
He even called her ‘one of the great loves of my life’ when they split in 2007, saying that their relationship was ‘a hell of a lot more romantic’ than the love story in the film.
At the time of their break-up he said: ‘The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin’ and we called it a draw.’
They stayed friends, however, and even tried to give their relationship another try when they reunited for two months in 2008, but couldn’t make it work.
Rachel then went on to meet Michael Sheen when they filmed Woody Allen‘s Midnight In Paris.
But their two-year relationship fell apart last month, with the couple claiming the long-distance romance – she’s based in Canada while Michael divides his time between Wales and LA – was too hard to sustain.
‘Eva‘s very nervous about Rachel being back on the market because Ryan nearly married her,’ says the source.
‘She’s extremely uncomfortable knowing they’re back in touch – like any woman would be.
‘She’s been waiting for him to propose for nearly a year.’
In the 2004 film The Notebook, Ryan‘s character Noah famously said: ‘It wasn’t over. It still isn’t over.’
For Eva‘s sake, let’s hope it is now.
