X Factor viewers call for Simon Cowell to make sure nothing is wrong with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s shrinking frame and gaunt appearance are continuing to shock her fans, who have been taking to Twitter to urge Simon Cowell to intervene, worried it could be the star’s workload that’s causing her to lose weight.
‘@SimonCowell as Cheryl’s friend I think you need to help her, she’s looking so thin & ill. Maybe she’s working to hard? [sic]’, posted one concerned viewer. ‘Ffs Simon, its you duty to tell Cheryl to eat! Bad impression for younger viewers [sic]’ , Tweeted another.
Despite Cheryl, 32, continuing to insist she’s ‘happy and healthy’, a concerned dad Tweeted a heartfelt plea to Simon after seeing his own daughter battle an eating disorder. ‘@SimonCowell please do something about Cheryl being so skinny. I almost lost my daughter to an eating disorder because she wanted that look’, he wrote.
Simon, 56, has previously defended Cheryl, insisting she was ‘eating like a horse’ after fans commented on her skinny appearance at the start of the X Factor auditions. And Cheryl, whose act Reggie and Bollie are performing in the X Factor final this weekend alongside Louisa Johnson and Che Chesterman, looks like she’s enjoying this year more than ever. She and the other judges are able to fit other work commitments around the demands of the show, so it’s unlikely her role as a judge would be too much for her.
Clearly wanting to drown out talk of her weight, Cheryl posted on Instagram last Thursday: ‘The less you respond to negativity, the more peaceful your life becomes’. However, despite admitting in July: ‘I know I look too thin,’ and assuring fans she was ‘eating lots’, it seems X Factor viewers are still worried as her weight appears to have dropped even further.
