The boybander isn't keen on showing off his body...

Being in the world’s biggest boyband would surely work wonders for you confidence, right?

Well apparently not. Body conscious One Direction boybander Niall Horan isn’t too keen on his hunky physique and what’s more he’s not gonna be showing it off anytime soon.

When asked by Radio 1’s Scott Mills whether he thought he had the bod for a nude selfie, the 21-year-old Irishman replied: ‘Oh no, that is cringe. I definitely don’t have the body for nude seflies.’

From the moment those ruddy words fell out of the blonde hunk’s mouth, One Direction’s legion of dedicated fans were positively outraged, sparking a Twitter storm by getting hashtag #NiallYourBodyIsWonderful trending.

Fan club 1DCentral tweeted: ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about but you’re clearly a 10/10’

While another added: ‘#NiallYourBodyIsWonderful don’t ever look down on yourself you are perfect the way you are!’

One person that could teach Niall a thing or two about ‘bootilicious’ body confidence is Queen B herself.

And it looks as if this potential friendship could be quite the meeting of minds, during the interview Niall confessed to be desperate to meet Mrs Jay Z.

‘I haven’t met Beyoncé… I’d like to meet her. She’s got that majestic look about her. I think if I would get to meet her I would get starstruck,’ he smiled.

‘We’ve been in the same building a couple of times but we’ve never met.’

The four piece broke streaming records with their latest single Drag Me Down – their first without Zayn Malik – which knocked Little Mix off of the top spot in the UK Singles Chart.

It earned the highest first-week streams for a single with 2.03 million plays and reached number one in 80 countries.

‘When we dropped the single we didn’t really realise that was the reaction it was going to get.’

‘You bring out music and never know what it’s [the reaction] going to be like, so to do it five years down the line and to have your most successful single now is pretty good.’

Wonder what the Little Mix fans will say…

‘Everyone needs a break!’ Liam Payne says One Direction need to take time out – could this spell the end of the band?
