During an interview with Howard Stern on his radio show, mum-of-two Gwyneth revealed that Brad once threatened to ‘kill’ disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Gwyneth, 45, has previously spoken out about how Harvey tried to lure the actress into his hotel room after she signed up to movies Shakespeare in Love and Emma.
Brad, now 54, is believed to have confronted Harvey at the opening night of Hamlet on Broadway
‘He told me exactly what he said [to Harvey]. He said, “If you ever make her feel uncomfortable again, I’ll kill you”. It was great. It was the equivalent of throwing him against the wall, energetically,’ she said.
‘He leveraged his fame and power to protect me at a time when I didn’t have fame or power yet … he’s the best. I love him for this,’ she added.
The news about Brad’s involvement first came to light back in October, and a representative for the actor confirmed the story.
Gwyneth – who is engaged to Glee producer Brad Falchuk – was one of the first women to speak out publicly about Harvey in 2017, but she admitted to Howard that she was reluctant to at first.
‘Now, it seems like a no-brainer, but at the time, the floodgates hadn’t opened, and not only did the story break, but it changed the culture completely,’ she explained.
Harvey was sacked from his company after several women brought allegations of sexual harassment and abuse against him.
As well as inviting Gwyneth to his hotel room for a meeting, after being cast in the Jane Austen adaptation of Emma, Harvey touched Gwyneth and asked her for a massage.
‘I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,’ Gwyneth told the New York Times last year.
