A doctor is seen explaining to Kim during the procedure: ‘Once you have pre-eclampsia you are at risk of having it again’

Kim then informs mum Kris Jenner and sister Kourtney what happened at the scan.

‘They saw more fluid than normal in my placenta, which could mean I have diabetes,’ the mum-to-be says.

A worried-looking Kris appears stunned by the news while Kourtney listens intently – watch the clip here.

Gestational diabetes affects woman whilst pregnant and happens when they develop higher levels of glucose in their blood than normal.

It doesn’t usually persist after the baby is born but women who have suffered from the illness may be at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes at a later point in life.

Kim is reportedly due to welcome her second child with hubby Kanye West in December and we hope the rest of her pregnancy progresses smoothly.

Whilst carrying daughter North, Kim experienced some frightening health issues. The star suffered from pre-eclampsia and went into premature labour in June 2013.

The high blood pressure condition can cause swelling, headaches and vision problems.

Having been through some difficult ordeals whilst expecting, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Kim recently confessed to disliking most things about being pregnant.

In a very upfront post on her website, the reality star called it the ‘worst experience’ of her life and detailed the things she hates about carrying a bubba.

‘Maybe it’s the swelling, the backaches or just the complete mindf**k of how your body expands and nothing fits. I just always feel like I’m not in my own skin,’ she wrote.

The only blessing for Kimmy is knowing that she’ll get a precious baby at the end of it, and we can’t WAIT for the little one to arrive too!
