Simon Cowell set to quit Britain's Got Talent as the show starts to fall apart
The audition process of Britain’s Got Talent hasn’t even come to an end yet, and already the show has been hit by a series of scandals.
Now, head judge Simon Cowell has even hinted he is eyeing up an early ‘retirement’ to spend more time with one-year-old son Eric, telling the Daily Star: ‘You can’t go on forever.’
The newspaper says Simon is planning to walk away from television altogether in a few years after creating stars such as One Direction, Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle through his talent programmes.
And with Katie Hopkins explaining ‘there is a role for a Miss Nasty on any panel’ over the weekend, and how ‘there aren’t any right now because everyone wants to be sweet like Cheryl Fernandez-Versini‘ – could she be being lined up to eventually take Si’s seat?
Um, we hope so!
Just imagine what would come out of controversial columnist Katie’s mouth! Actually, on second thoughts, it might be too brutal… *shudders*
However, this isn’t actually the biggest shock revelation to hit the BGT camp this week.
Judges David Walliams and Alesha Dixon have been involved in a race row following one contestant’s bid for stardom.
David and Alesha clashed after feisty Alesha claimed the comedian’s ‘rubbish’ comment to act Acapella Queen was racist after referring to her as a ‘young Alesha Dixon’.
then claimed ‘if she was white you’d never say that’ while the audience
sat and watched the awkwardness unfold in the soon-to-be aired scenes.
Meanwhile Amanda Holden has been slammed by the public after a shock picture of her nine-year-old daughter Lexi dressed as a prostitute was uploaded to her official Twitter page.
The picture showed Lexi dressed as Julia Robert‘s prostitute character Vivian Ward from Pretty Woman.
Although the shot of Lexi in her costume for a 90s dress-up day at school was removed from the internet just eight minutes later, it has caused outrage online with many questioning what the mum was thinking.
Amanda later issued a statement explaining that the picture was actually posted to her Twitter account by mistake by her husband.
She said: ‘The truth is that Lexi went to school as Cindy Crawford for her school ’90s Day – not Julia Roberts – as anyone who heard me yesterday at BGT – and indeed the teachers at Lexi’s school – will confirm.
‘However my husband thought she looked more like Julia Roberts, without any thought to any interpretation.
‘Although given that she is a nine-year old girl it seems completely unbelievable and disturbing that anyone could or would put such an interpretation on it.
‘Julia is one of the most beautiful and iconic women in the world, so as a proud father, he wanted to post the similarity on his private Facebook page.
‘He hit the wrong button and posted it on my Twitter account- but removed it as soon as he realised.
‘The first I knew was when I was contacted by the media while filming today. My husband is mortified.’
