Since his wife, Jade Goody’s death in 2009, Jack Tweed says he’s considered ending his life
With a string of arrests for
ABH and common assault, it was clear reality star Jack Tweed was
struggling with the death of his wife, Jade Goody back in 2009. But we had no
idea how bad things have been for the 27-year-old, who this week spoke out
about being a drug addict who contemplated suicide.
Jack says he had his fair share of run-ins with the law after his spouse passed away and when his pal presented him with a marijuana he quickly forgot his struggles, but the problem soon spiralled out of control.
He said: ‘I smoked it and forgot about everything.
Slowly, it got to be every single day.
‘At the start I’d have one and I’d be pretty much
stoned all night. But after four or five months, I’d have one every hour. I
used to wake up in the night and roll a joint.’
The businessman, who lost
Jade to ovarian cancer when she was only 27, says he quickly lost sight of ‘what it was like to be normal’ as he started spending £150 on drugs every few
Jack revealed he couldn’t function properly and had to smoke at certain intervals otherwise he would throw up when he ate.
He shared in the interview with new! magazine that when he started to feel really low he tried to kill himself with a cocktail of Ibuprofen and hay-fever tablets.
Jack explained about the incident two months ago: ‘I was going to take them. My brother
lived with me and he came in, burst into tears and grabbed them off me.
‘I thought, “There’s just no point me
being here any more.” I didn’t want to wake up in the morning.’
He moved in with his mum
after the incident and has been seeing a bereavement counsellor. He also swears
he hasn’t touched illegal drugs since and has only been taking prescribed antidepressants.
He added that best mate, Mark Wright, who is ‘massively’ anti-drugs, has been his rock, and the pair have started regularly
playing football and golf together.
The chat also saw Jack open up about his on-off relationship with Chanelle Hayes, 26, who
has accused him of stalking her and labelled her ex, ‘an unstable psychopath’.
He said: ‘She’s a nice girl, but we’re sort of the same really. We’re just a
little bit crazy. Three weeks ago she was telling me she wanted to
get married, and now she hates me.’
