After 13 years of marriage, Jeremy Kyle confirms that he and model Carla Germaine have separated
Jeremy Kyle has confirmed speculation that he’s split from model wife Carla Germaine.
The controversial 50-year-old presenter admitted in heartbreaking words that he and Carla, 40, have been leading separate lives for some time.
‘After 13 years of a generally happy marriage, my wife and I, Carla, have separated amicably,’ says Jeremy.
‘We have sadly grown apart over recent years and been living apart since earlier this summer.’
Jeremy – who has children Henry, Alice and Ava with Carla – has vowed to continue to provide their kids with a ‘stable upbringing’.
The TV star is clearly devastated though and has spoken of his ‘sadness and regret’ over the break-up, reports The Sun.
It comes just months after Jeremy hinted at possible marital troubles on his daytime TV show The Jeremy Kyle Show.
Viewers were left stunned when the host confessed to a female guest on the programme that his sex life had been suffering recently after she said: ‘Listen, I get sex from [my boyfriend] whenever I want. I don’t need to go and get sex from someone else.’
Jeremy then responded by saying: ‘Tell him then! I’ve had enough about talking about it. I haven’t had sex for ages myself.’
The split news is especially sad given that Jeremy and Carla went through a lot together, including Jeremy’s diagnosis with testicular cancer in 2012. After the difficult time he credited Carla with being a huge source of support.
Carla is Jeremy’s second wife and they married in 2002 after meeting in slightly unusual circumstances.
Aspiring model Carla entered a competition ran by BRMB radio station in Birmingham – where Jeremy was working at the time – that controversially saw her marry her complete stranger.
The marriage to Greg Cordell broke down after three months and Carla then started dating Jeremy.
Jeremy was previously hitched to Kirsty Rowley, who he split from in 1990. They have a daughter together called Harriet.
